CLOSET TREASURES ISF X AIWC

In October, a special fundraiser event, Closet Treasures, was extremely well-hosted at ISF by G12 students. The event raised 1385 euros in 5 days.

Closet Treasures is an annual fundraiser event by the American International Women's Club (AIWC) in which new and gently used clothing, shoes, handbags, sportswear, and accessories are put up for sale to gather funds for charity. These items have been donated by AIWC members and their sponsors. All benefits went to Projekt Schmetterling.

“It was a wonderful experience for us to work on the ‘Closet Treasures’ project with all our friends. We were able to gather approximately 1,385 euros through this project all of which went towards Projekt Schmetterling to help the women’s cancer charity cause. This cause is sponsored by AIWC Charity with whom we also worked last year. It was a golden opportunity that helped us grow and learn overall.

Our friends were really supportive throughout our project and deserve credit for this event turning out in place and well together. It was overall a team of 5-6 people including Carly Seibel, Paris Schuster, Havin Demir, Jeyoo Chang who put in 5-6 hours throughout the project and without whom it wouldn’t have been possible.

We would also like to thank our friends who modeled and also helped in organizing the clothes during the sales or helped at the snacks counter. We worked really hard at organizing the SLO^® room daily with all the clothes, shoes, and accessories that were donated. We had to keep arranging a good number of bags continuously and making sure the place stayed tidy throughout even when the customers shopped, which was a challenge. We also had a fashion runway event before opening the sales, which was quite fun to work on especially while deciding outfits for all the models.

We were able to raise a good amount of money and we are glad and satisfied that our hard work benefited a good cause. Last but not least, we would like to thank AIWC, Miss Hannon, and Miss Shi for their tremendous support throughout our project”
