On Wednesday, 24th February, ISF was delighted to host a gala event organised jointly by ISF and the Consulate of the People’s Republic of China here in Frankfurt, to mark the beginning of the Chinese New Year – the Year of the Monkey.
We were honoured that Mr. Liang the Consul General of the People’s Republic of China was present at the event and addressed our large audience of parents, students, staff and friends of ISF, on the theme of international understanding.
Also present was a large official delegation from the Chinese Consulate and representatives of the PGY Chinese School.
Mr. Liang presented Mr. Slesser with a very generous collection of beautiful books for our school library as well as a symbolic red monkey, to bring good fortune to ISF.
Our enthralled audience saw marvellous performances of traditional dance and music given by performers from Tibet as well as from three of our very talented ISF students, Louise Gao, Bolin Hu and Jae Kim, who also performed classical and modern music and dance as part of the concert.
This was certainly a spectacular and memorable event, enjoyed hugely by our enthusiastic audience. ISF looks forward to working closely with the Chinese Consulate and Chinese community here in Frankfurt in the future.
