All-School Art Exhibition in Hattersheim

On Thursday the 8th of March, ISF hosted its annual all-school art exhibition at the Nassauer Hof gallery in Hattersheim. The event was organized by ISF and the city of Hattersheim, which kindly allows ISF the use of their charming and atmospheric gallery each year.

The ISF exhibition displayed a range of art works featuring IB diploma candidates from Grades 9 up to Grade 12, chosen by our two art teachers, Dr. Domench and Mr. Richard.
The exhibition was centred around the amazing work produced by our four Grade 12 IB Diploma students. As part of the IB Diploma, our art students have to display their work and write a short commentary on each piece, outlining the central theme, which they have developed throughout all of their pieces, and discussing the techniques employed to produce each separate work of art.

To open the ceremony, Dr. Ludwig introduced our four IB artists and highlighted some of the works on display. Mr. Richard spoke about the development of the four artists and of their work over the past two years.

Much of the works on display were stunning in their virtuosity, their originality and in their amazing use of colour and light. The audience was also able to enjoy a slide show of the last 10 years of IB Art in ISF, celebrating 10 years of IB at ISF.

Our four Grade 12 artists, Theo V., Kim V., Nanako Y., and Victoria W. deserve our sincere thanks and congratulations for their artistic endeavours, which were enjoyed by a large and appreciative audience.

Thanks must go also to Louise G. from Grade 12 who enhanced the atmosphere of the exhibition with her performance of a number of classical piano works.

Finally, of course, we should recognise the sterling work of our two ISF art teachers, Mr. Richard and Dr. Domench.
