ISF Sommerfest 2021 was great fun!
The fact that our 25th Anniversary Sommerfest had to take place virtually instead of on campus didn’t stop us from having a lot of fun! We know people are getting pretty fed up of sitting in front of screens now so we made the event as interactive as possible. Many ISF families and staff took part and really got involved in the activities.
Picnic Goody Bags
To start with we created picnic goody bags for families who registered. The idea behind this was to make sure the very important element of food was still involved in the event and to encourage families to go out into the garden or to the park rather than having stay inside. We’re so pleased to have received so much positive feedback about the picnic goody bags, and it’s great to see your pictures of you enjoying them.
Performances on the Main Stage
In the Main Stage area many families gathered to watched the Oddball theatre performance. Hats off to Ms O’Sullivan and the drama group for rehearsing and performing the show through the various stages of lockdown, the result was excellent. There were also lots of little ones enjoying the live puppet theatre and the recorded performances of the Korean Drummers is of course something that cannot be missed at an ISF event. The science fair and talent show entries were so impressive, congratulations to everyone that took part and well done to all of the winners.
Activities for Everyone
The Fun & Games Channel certainly lived up to its name with a lot of fun going on! The dance party and karaoke rooms had people dancing and singing all the way through and the games rooms had such a wide variety of fun activities to get involved in.
The Sportverein Channel also offered a wide variety of activities from pilates and basketball to how to look after your bike. And the Food Court Channel saw some great recipes and cook-alongs with lots of people tuning in and delicious results.
United Korean successfully moved their auction online to raise valuable funds for our Kenya project, supporting the building of a cafeteria for the school in Chitsanze. Thank you to everyone who bid and took part.
Sommerfest 2022
Although we had a lot of fun and made the most of our virtual event, we are looking forward to being able to invite our whole ISF community back on to campus and sincerely hope that our Sommerfest 2022 won’t need to be virtual.
