Congratulations to the Boys and Girls Varsity Volleyball Teams!

On Saturday, the Boys and Girls Varsity Volleyball teams travelled to St. George’s School Duisburg-Düsseldorf (STG-D) for their GISST.  After a year off from tournaments, both teams were really excited to get the opportunity to compete again. 

This year, the GISST organization decided on having regional tournaments in an effort to limit the amount travel time and the number of participants at the tournaments.  During pool play, the boys beat St. George’s Cologne (STG-C), STG-D’s second team, and the International School of Düsseldorf in straight sets.  This meant an automatic trip to the finals even though they still had to play STG-D’s first team.  ISF split sets with them, losing their only set of the day, 27-29.  In the finals, the ISF boys played with more motivation and intensity than they had all day.  In the end, ISF came out on top after Selim Esgin blocked an STG-D player and the ball fell to the floor.
