Department Track & Field / Cross Country

ISF sent grade 5 to 12 students to compete in the Cross Country GISST tournament on Oct 9-10th 2015. The all team picture reflects the great team spirit demonstrated by all runners during this beautiful autumn event in the forest nearby the Berlin British School. Graduates from 2015 sent a motivation letter to the team encouraging every runner to do their best and to pass on the message that “You never run alone – you run for the ISF CC & Track family & team and a “hanuta” biscuit at the end is worth the pain you go through and the effort you take whilst running 2-5,5k that should become fun over time”. Overall Team Leader Amelie H. read the message to the team promising that she will continue with the tradition of sending motivation letters to the team once she graduated. The Varsity Girls defended the first place team result from last year thanks to their outstanding overall team effort of 5 top 15 results for the team completed by newcomer Joanna C. winning 2nd place overall VG. Our Varsity Boys team with only 4 runners tried very hard, but due to their limited number were not able to defend the first place title from last year ending at 8th place in the overall school ranking.

The U 14 girls team managed to achieve overall place 7 with best runner Abigail B. finishing at 7th place followed by Jana von H. in 18th place out of a total of 51 runners.
The U 14 boys achieved 6th place in the overall team ranking with best runner Clayton S. taking13th place among 39 runners.

A young committed team from Grade 5 and 6 completed the overall team success with the following top places; Bennet B. 2nd place, Sarah W. 3rd place and Anna M. 4th place. We would like to congratulate all of our athletes and thank all of our parents that came to Berlin to cheer on the team and support the coaches.
