The SABIS® curriculum implemented at ISF emphasizes the core subjects of English, mathematics, and world languages in addition to providing students with knowledge of a broad range of subjects including science, social studies, art, music, health, physical education, and computer studies.
A second language is stressed throughout the curriculum and required for students at all grade levels. From KG1, students have a minimum of one German lesson each day. From Grade 6 onwards, students are also required to study a third language, either French or Spanish.
In order to ensure that our curriculum is successfully implemented, we use the SABIS® Book Series in Kindergarten through High School in all core subjects. All SABIS® Books are designed to dovetail with the SABIS® curriculum and follow the SABIS Point System® of teaching. Subsequently, every book is divided, in line with every course in the curriculum, into concepts, or “points”, which form the building blocks of student learning.
Students in grades 4 through 9 at ISF have weekly advising classes addressing topics that immediately affect their lives.
