Secondary Students Dazzle ISF In “The Fantasticks”!

ISF Dramatic Arts Theater (I’DAT) is delighted to report the smashing success of the group’s first production, The Fantasticks! ISF students saw their first glimpse of the musical in a series of short “sneak previews” during the 3rd week in January, and full performances were played on January 28, 29, and 31 to an audience of ISF families, teachers, and students. The show was performed by a cast of passionate students in Grades 7 – 12, who dedicated themselves to rehearsal nearly every day after school—plus many Saturdays!—from the end of September through “closing night”. The show was directed by Ms. C. with assistance by ISF parent Anna I., and the actors were supported by a magnificent crew from grades 8 – 12 under the leadership of Ms. B., who ran lights, sounds, props and coordinated backstage elements of the show. Many others from around the school also lent a hand! The Senior Stage SLO® Theater group, SLO®, the Hausmeisters, Marketing, Mr. S., Mr. S., Ms. S., Ms. O., Ms. B., Ms. D., several parents, and a number of generous volunteers from the Music, Art and English departments all helped out with design and organizational tasks.

Special thanks are due to members of the Parents’ Network, who gave generously of their time to help Ms. C. and I’DAT members with ticket sales, and provided a kind financial donation in partial support of the wireless microphone rentals. Acting, singing, and backstage elements came together beautifully to make the 2014-15 musical a Fantastick production with polish and flair! CONGRATULATIONS TO THE CAST AND CREW!!
