GISST Basketball & Tennis and Interschool Swimming

The very young U14 Basketball Teams came in 9th this year and the Varsity teams both boys and girls took home the 3rd place trophy. Thank you very much Tim P., Jason B. and Sam H. as well chaperone Elisa V.
After four Basketball tournaments in March and the Tennis Varsity Tournament in April it could not be closer, with ISF leading by just one point from BIS and BerIS in the GISST overall ranking. The upcoming Track meet in May will be super competitive and decide whether ISF can keep the Peter Murphy trophy (Overall GISST winner 2014/15).
Phillip M. and Valerie G. took the Varsity Tennis team to ISR International School on the Rhine. Our Boys came in 7th and our Girls came in 6th - both teams achieved the Sportsmanship award. Well done!
Thank you to all participating players especially from G12 for your excellent commitment and behavior. They all came home with smiling faces.
26 young swimmers from G 2-6 took part in the Interschool Swimming Gala in Berlin last weekend. On Sunday they explored Berlin taking part in a historical Stavanger hunt from Berlin Mitte, Alexanderplatz via Berlin Cathedral, Museum Island, New Guard House, Bebelplatz to the Brandenburg gate. On Monday they competed in Berlin-Wilmersdorf in many races. Everybody achieved one or more medals. Most of the children swam new personal best marks. Grade 4/5 Boys and Girls came in first and grade 2/3 boys and girls came in second place.
Thank you to so many supporting parents who cheered the team in Berlin as well to 26 very committed swimmers who displayed excellent team work. Particular thanks to our coaches Stephanie M., Sigrid D., Rebecca P., Nick B. and Uli G.
