ISF`s United Korean Concert

On Friday 27th January our Korean students staged our ninth, annual United Korean Concert. This concert has become one of the major highlights of the ISF school year and is eagerly anticipated by students, staff and parents alike.

The Concert is organised by our G11 Korean students and all of the proceeds raised by the concerts are donated towards the charity, “Habitat for Humanity” which ISF has supported for many years. “Habitat for Humanity” is a global housing charity that fights poverty worldwide by building safe and decent homes, where families and communities can thrive. A team of ISF students and staff will travel to Macedonia in February as part of “Habitat for Humanity” to work on the construction of new family homes.

Our ninth United Korean concert did not disappoint. The very large and appreciative audience of over 400 enjoyed each and every one of the sixteen different performances on stage. We saw and heard performances of classical and modern music and dance and, of course, of outstanding Korean Drumming.

Throughout the concert a number of prizes were raffled and the members of the audience were able to win many interesting rewards. The star prizes on offer were certainly the flight ticket to Korea, offered by Asiana Airlines and the amazing Mando Electric Bike.
Before the concert and during the interval members of the audience were able to sample Korean food provided by our ISF Korean parents.
All of us in ISF would like to thank all of the students who performed during the concerts. We know that they rehearsed hard for many weeks and their performances were outstanding. We would like to thank also our Korean parents who supported their children. We would also like to thank all of the sponsors who donated prizes for the raffle. Above all we would like to thank our Group of G11 Korean students who planned and executed this whole event. They did a great job!

We are looking forward already to the tenth ISF United Korean Concert!
