IGCSE, IB Diploma, and AP® Qualifications
ISF High School students are prepared for various external examinations which are taken in grades 10-12. International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE) exams, the international version of the British GCSE examinations, are taken by students at the end of Grade 10. After this, ISF students can elect to take courses leading to the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma or the Advanced Placement (AP®).
The IB Diploma programme is covered in grades 11 and 12. IB exams are taken in the spring of the 12th grade. AP®s are taken in Grade 12. Other examinations that ISF students may take in grades 10-12 include TOEFL language proficiency tests and PSAT, SAT I and SAT II examinations, all important for entry into U.S. universities.
Each year ISF students achieve consistently excellent results on external examinations.
ISF students often obtain outstanding results in exams, with the highest mark in Germany or in the World at IGCSE level. In addition, over 90% of ISF AP® students score between 3 and 5 points (5 is the highest), while the IB Diploma pass rate is between 85% and 90%, with 50% to 65% of students scoring 30 points and above. Each year over 85% of IB Diploma students at ISF are awarded the prestigious IB Bilingual Diploma, compared to the world average of 30%.
